About Us

Wasp Marine was established 14 years ago by Graham Rodgers in Tekapo. After many years of specializing in marine engines Graham sold Wasp Marine to Ngai Tahu Tourism (formerly Shotover Jet Limited) in September 2006. Wasp Marine was then relocated from Tekapo to Queenstown into new premises in Frankton Industrial Estate.

The new team at Wasp Marine is headed up by Bill Crooks, the Technical and Systems Manager for Ngai Tahu Tourism. In the past Bill’s role has involved working closely with and leading the various boating subsidiaries (Shotover Jet Queenstown, Hukafalls Jet Taupo and Dart River Safaris Glenorchy) on all mechanical and technical issues around the jet boats. Bill’s wealth of knowledge is invaluable in the marine environment and allows Wasp Marine to continue and build on Graham’s work of providing a range of marine accessories as well as top quality performance engines.

In the future Wasp Marine will continue to build engines for Shotover Jet, Dart River Safaris, Dart Wilderness Adventures, Hukafalls Jet, Hollyford Valley Walk as well as a wide range of other customers.
